This model expresses authentic American hat designs in a straw hat for spring and summer. Viscose, a recycled fiber, is chosen as the material. Viscose is lightweight and tear-resistant. The specifications are a teardrop-shaped crown of 11cm, a brim of 7.5cm, a ribbon width of 3.8cm, and piping of 2.5cm. A standard design that suits any style, making it a staple hat for spring and summer.

HAND WOVEN STRAWS

Every straw hat starts out in the hands of a skilled weaver. Depending on the complexity of the pattern, a single hat body can take anywhere from 15 days to complete. Vented crowns with complex patterns take the longest to weave but have the added benfit of letting air flow through the crown to help you keep cool in the mid-day sun.

FINISHING A TEXAS-HAT

After going through 4 rounds of lacquering and shaping, each straw hat goes to the trim department to be finished. A leather or Drilex® self-conforming sweatband is sewn into the hat and a ribbon or leather band is affixed to the outside crown. Drilex® is an especially popular choice of cowboys far and wide as its patented cloth wicks away sweat to help keep you comfortable outside in the heat.

OUT THE DOOR & READY TO WEAR

The last stop before a Texas-hat gets to you or a retailer, is at final inspect. Inspected from top to bottom we check to make sure that every Texas-hatcan live up to the name, because we live it everyday!
